Lions Surgery Assistance Prevents Loss of Employment for Mr. Johnny Thomas

"I want to thank the Lions Clubs and all of its members; without the Lions Club providing my double cataract surgery, I would be blind." This was Mr. Johnny Thomas's remarks to the Myrtle Beach Lions Club during a recent visit. Mr. Thomas works in construction but has no insurance. He was faced with having cataract surgery or lose his job. He contacted the Myrtle Beach Lions Club, who forwarded his request to South Carolina Lions Charitable Services. His surgery was approved and is gainfully employed today. Mr. Thomas stated, "You made a real difference in my life; I am the only person in my work crew who has a driver's license. When I drove the crew to work I had to rely on my buddies to tell me if the street light was red or green. Now I can see the lights fine...God bless you all."
